Rajasthan is perhaps one of the most vibrant and colorful of all the Indian provinces. The sanctified pilgrim centres in Rajasthan are not only places of worship but also monuments of great artistic beauty. Home to a number of religious sites pertaining to people from all faiths, the province is an important pilgrimage site.
The Rajasthan Pilgrimage includes places below:
  • Birla Temple (Jaipur) : Birla Mandir in Jaipur is a member of the chain of temples in all over India. It is also known by Laxmi-Narayan Temple. The temple has been constructed in white marble and has three domes, each portraying the different approaches to religion.

  • Dargah-Ajmer-E-Sharief (Ajmer) : The Dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Hasan Chisti in Ajmer is one of the most important Muslim pilgrimages not only in India but also in the world. In fact the Dargah at Ajmer is the second most important Muslim pilgrimage after the one at Mecca.

  • Dilwara Jain Temples (Mount Abu) : In Dilwara Jain Temples as old as 11th to the 13th century AD. These temples are world famous for their stunning use of marble.These five legendary and mythological marble temples of Dilwara are the sacred pilgrimage of the Jains.   • Eklingji Shiva Temple (Udaipur) : The temple at Eklingji or Kailashpuri is one of the prime pilgrimage destinations in Rajasthan. Eklingji is built on the shore of a small lake bounded by the surrounding hills. A religious place from every angle it is also well known as Kailashpuri or the abode of Shiva, the family deity of the ruling Mewar dynasty.

  • Govind Devi Temple (Jaipur) : In pink city, Jaipur many temples are well known for their artistic beauty but the Govind Devji temple is special. It enshrines an idol which has been worshiped by the royal family of Jaipur ever since it was brought from Vinadavan to Jaipur in the 18th century.

  • Jagat Pita Brahmaji Temple (Pushkar) : Pushkar is best known for its Brahma Temple. Brahma Temple was built in the 14th century near Pushkar Lake. This is the only temple in the world where Lord Brahma is worshipped. The temple walls are beautiful wrapped up with silver coins. The silver turtle on the floor is a pleasant thing to watch which is kept to beautify the temple compound.

  • Karni Mata Temple (Deshnok) : The temple is dedicated to an early 15th century mystic, considered to be a reincarnation of Goddess Durga. This temple is quite famous for a large number of brown rats running around the temple complex fearlessly. It is believed that the souls of dead Charans (traditional bards, the devotees of Mata) reside in these rats.

  • Parshvanathji Temple/Nakoda Tirth/Nakodaji (Nakoda) : As per historical references, Nakoda is related to a person named Nakorsen who lived in the third century before Vikram era. It was Nakorsen who had founded a city called Nakor, which in course of time became famous as Nakoda. Nakorsen had got a temple constructed here which was consecrated by the lotus hands of Acharya Sthoolibhadra.

  • Pushkar Dham (Pushkar) : The Holy Lake of Pushkar has 52 ghat and pilgrim take a bath in it. The Most colourful and popular thing in Pushkar is its Cattle fair held on the Kartik Purnima. During the fair one can enjoy the dance and music. You may buy the typical and traditional Rajasthani clothes, suits, Dupatta, handicrafts items, jewellery and others.

  • Shri Mahavirji Temple (Chandangaon) : The Mahavirji temple is located in an enclosure known as 'katala' and houses the image of Mahavir Swami believed to have been dug out by a leather worker from Devta-Ka-Tila, a nearby hillock. There is a Man-Stambha (tower of glory) made of marble in front of the temple.

  • Ranakpur Jain Temples (Ranakpur) : Ranakpur is widely known for its marble Jain temple, and for a much older Sun Temple which lies opposite the former. For the followers of Jainism, Ranakpur temples are of great importance, as they make one of the five major pilgrimage sites.

  • Shrinathji Temple (Nathwara) : The structure of this temple is simple, but the aesthetic appeal of this temple is ceaseless. The image of Shrinathji is worth seeing and feeling the celestial beauty of the God. Lord Shrinathji symbolizes a form of Lord Krishna, when he lifted the 'Govardhana' (a hill).

  • Shri Ramdevji Temple (Ramdevra) : The tomb of Shri Ramdevji is worshipped here. This tomb or cenotaph is at the centre of the temple campus. The head is towards north while the feet are towards South. In this temple various tombs of the family members of Shri Ramdevji are also there while in Hindudharma the dead bodies are cremated, here like the Nath cult, the dead bodies are assigned to dust in a grave and a tomb is built thereon.
